Hi !

I’m Bastien Jouvin, percussionist, drummer, improviser, composer, humble visual artist and writer, from Normandy, France.
This site is a pretext to build a home for my creations through different projects, aesthetics, collaborations and I provide a free sample collection, at the disposal of everyone (more info on the database page)
I see and feel music as a cathartic means to emancipate from mental issues I suffer and my creativity is self-sufficant in the sense that the process makes me feel good in a pretty harsh world.
In this regard, my work being heard comes like a beautiful additionnal present if it it occurs, but won’t alter my output.

Contextes is also a humble support for people who make exciting music to my ears through the blog page integrated to this site.
This is a place I’ve been working on for a long time with many changes to find a formula that fits me. I want it a space for you to spend a while with me, taking your time to look and listen up closely.

Private person, I decided to avoid use of social networks, and offer an alternative solution via my newsletter, to focus on this creative process and make all the music – mine, yours – resonate organicly through readers and passersby.

Reviews constitute a concrete and referenced trace to your music on the internet and are made available to artists and labels who value words themselves in their promotional efforts or for their personnal enjoyment.

Regarding the creative side of things, aim is therefore to express myself first, and, in extension, to share projects with other musicians, build something lasting out of reasonable aspirations, in passionate and heartfelt constructions.
