In an altruistic gesture, but also so that my music can resonate beyond myself, I have decided to compile separate tracks and samples from a large part of the present productions on this site, as well as others from unfinished or unreleased projects that contain interesting elements to me. They are available to producers, samplers, composers, and tinkerers of all kinds on my personal storage space.
If you use fragments of music from these files, I would be more than happy to hear what you have done with them, and more, to release or co-release it on Contextes if I like it and that you vibe with the idea.
For this tiny structure, I decided to keep it direct and propose music for people who like to own their files and physical copies, instead of wasting money and promote their multiplication on dozens of streaming plateforms for the quite intimate space that’s setting to place.
In this spirit, to avoid excessive data accumulation on the cloud and the cost of additional gigabytes, I will erase parts of it and replace it with new stuff each time my storage space is full. To gain a bit of this space, I chose the 48 -24 Flac format instead of Wav for practical aspect without compromising the good quality of what I’m sharing. I dispose of 16GB of storage and for now nearly 7 are used.
So feel free to spread the word to your fellow musicians, and in turn maybe host parts of this material or your own to extend the life of these little bits of music and their way forward into stimulating and stimulated works.
We could then form a vivid alternative community cultivating friendly sharing of authentic content and free access through this old-school idea, far from the cold pre-chewed / fashion oriented sample packs of the big electronic music brands or AI that allows anyone to generate music without sweat, guts and heart.
